Arbitration and Mediation Services
Brian Gold launched Gold ADR after 35 years of private practice, with the last 27 years as a partner with Sidley Austin LLP. At Sidley, Mr. Gold served as the global head of its leading employment practice for nearly 20 years until his retirement in 2018. He was recognized for many years by all of the leading publications as one of the nation's preeminent employment lawyers. While Mr. Gold had great success as trial counsel, he was particularly proud of his many successes in early, efficient and effective resolution of litigation matters. He was involved as an advocate in hundreds of mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Gold is effectively using those advocacy experiences in his mediation and arbitration appointments. Mr. Gold's services are focused on employment disputes but he also will accept appointments for other general litigation matters. His substantive experiences in private practice involved handling virtually every type of employment dispute, including discrimination and wage and hour class actions, restrictive covenant litigation, executive contract disputes, and individual discrimination and whistleblower actions. Mr. Gold is a member of the American Arbitration Association Panel of Employment Arbitrators. He also has completed the Center for Conflict Resolution's ("CCR") Performance-Based Mediation Skills Training. He also serves as a member of the CCR Board of Directors.
FEES
Mr. Gold's standard fees for service as an arbitrator or mediator is $400 per hour for matters involving for-profit entities and $250 per hour for matters involving non-profit or government entities. Fees include preparation time, conferences, travel time and arbitration hearings and mediation sessions, and (for arbitration matters) consideration of motions, study and deliberation, and award drafting, Apart from travel expenses, there are no charges for any out-of-pocket expenses. There also are no cancellation fees, except for cancellations within three business days of commmencement of a scheduled hearing or session, in which case the cancellation fee will be eight hours or as otherwise agreed upon.
